Camp Discovery offers a fun filled summer of science exploration and discovery. Each week offers a theme based journey of daily activities, science experiments, arts and crafts, special guest, field trips and more. We will learn about the lives of creatures and places across the planet and right here in our state, bringing a fresh understanding of the world around us.

Individual week enrollment is available. A $15 deposit and weekly tuition must be received before June 1st. If choosing multiple weeks only on deposit is required.

6/11 – 6/13 School Is Out! 3 fun filled days to kick off the beginning of summer.
6/16 – 6/20 Rocks, Fossils and Weather(Vulcan Earth Science Museum) Examine the history of our changing earth thru the study of rocks, fossils and weather. A field trip to Vulcan Earth Science Museum will help to discover what we can do to help save our planet.
6/23 – 6/27 All About the Habitat (Kiddie Critter Petting Zoo) From blubber bears to desert rabbits explore how animals survive in some of the earth’s most extreme temperatures. Animals will be brought in by Kiddie Critter Petting Zoo for an up close and personal study of the animals in our lessons.
6/30 – 7/3 Extreme Sports Science (Lowes Smart Shopper) Get extreme as you discover all your body can do. Exciting Sport Science challenges will teach all about the human machine. Learn how to fuel the body and become passionate about health and wellness thru the Be Smart program.
7/7 – 7/11 Science Stew Use science to create culinary creations to make taste buds go crazy, while learning all about chemical reactions.
7/14 – 7/18 Gold and Gems (McCullough Gold mill) Spend the week digging deep into the history of NC and gold mining right here in the triad , including a visit to historic Castle McCullough and McCullough gold mine.
7/21 – 7/25 What Lies Beneath (Linville Caverns) Learn all about what lies beneath the earth’s surface right here in NC. We will travel under ground into Linville Caverns to study stalagmites, crystals, bats and albino river trout.
7/28 – 8/1 Chemtastic Create classic gags with chemistry, from disappearing ink to fake blood. Is it magic or is it science!
8/4 – 8/8 A Bugs Life (Bayer Crop Science Insectariums) Some of our busiest neighbors are our smallest neighbors, bugs! Learn all about a bugs life and spend time with some exotic bugs at the Bayer Crop Science Insectariums.
8/11 -8/15 Inventor Invasion (Scrap Exchange) Students will learn to create and to recycle. The NC Scrap exchange will provide an opportunity to create new inventions from recycled materials/
8/18 – 8/22 Spirit Week A week of theme based days to celebrate the close of summer including a Camp Discovery Party!
